1 John 3:16, NIV: This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us

A true sign of love is to lay down one’s life for others. Jesus did that for humanity without reservation.

God loved us enough to come as Jesus, and to die for us, so that anyone who puts their trust in Him will be redeemed.  This new life offered to all those who believe in Christ is never ending.   This is the  purpose of Jesus’s selfless sacrifice, our salvation.   This is the ultimate declaration of God’s intense love for you. It is the tenet of Salvation. He gave His life freely so that you will live with Him eternally.
